Saucony Men’s Guide 9 Running Shoe (guide 9 m) 669

Review for mens guide running

Price was $53.23 - $155.21. I love the saucony guide shoes. I have owned the 7, 8, and now the 9. The 9 fits much more like the 7 which is good as i did not care for how the 8 fit. The 8 was too stiff in the sole. Like the 7 the 9 has more flexibility at the toe. I get shin splints very easily and these are the only shoes that have helped prevent them, however i have to also buy insoles to go with the shoe. . The only reason i gave it a 4 star is like all saucony shoes i also have to buy $20 insoles to go with it. I have gone through many different shoes and it seem that they are all like this, perhaps they want you to buy an insole that fits well for the individual but still i find it frustrating. The insoles that come with the shoe do not have much cushion or support and will wear out very quickly. If you want the shoe to last comfortably you must buy insoles. I would expect a high end shoe to have better insoles than the flimsy foam insoles that come with the shoe but that is just me.

My dad normally wears a 9 1/2 and he needed to get a size 10 and it fits perfect. He is a runner in the summer time. Location can vary from street to track. Lately the shoes he has worn have become uncomfortable, get him tired, or causes cramps in his legs. With his first run he noticed the difference on all three of those things. He said "he thinks he found his new favorite shoe" Best mens guide running | Saucony-Shoes Review as-of ( Feb 2019 ) Advantage Saucony Men's Guide 9 Running Shoe Light-stability road running and racing shoe featuring mesh with tech-striped overlays. 8mm heel-to-toe drop. I've used saucony for a long time but it's been about two years since i've purchased a new pair. I ordered a 9 1/2 wide which is what i've used before and it feels perfect. The sizing doesn't seem to have changed at all. This is the first time i have tried a pair with the ever run cushioning and it really feels great. I've used them on a treadmill and found them to be really good for that. The quality seems to be on part with my older sauconys and hopefully they'll last just as long.

I do have the online store prime which i expected to get them around then anyways. . Everything fit perfectly as expected, just had to go one size larger for this brand of shoe that i've had before. . I did try them on at rogans shoes before buying these online which were so much cheaper in the red shoe. . Was happy to see these online for half off compared to the blue shoes which were around $120 at rogans and online store online also. But there were many more choices to choose from online also which was awesome. . The feeling of the shoes are very comfy for me staying on my feet 12 hrs a day. . I do have wider feet also which is why i went up a size after trying them on at the rogans shoe store. I have medium arches on my feet i think and the support of these shoes are a 2 or 2. 5 for support. . I found out the arch support can go all the way up to a five arch support. . So far everything is feeling quite comfy as i wanted them to a week later. Would have been nice in the info to know if the shoes were wide foot and how much arch support they had. . The info might have shown it but nothing i could see. . Overall happy with the shoes, hoping they hold up for a couple years now."

Saucony Women's Guide 9 Running Shoe

I am not solicited in any way to the seller or its affiliates. Background: looking for shoes to wear on concrete for 12 hour work shift. Theory: running and impact of shoe on multiple surfaces, like concrete, and still be comfy, should be able to wear standing mostly still on concrete floors. I tried about 4 other shoes that were "designed" for work or standing long hours, nurses and waiter shoes, shoes that are foam and padded; well, these take the cake. I stand 5 hours 5 days a week in non-slick shoes that really take a toll on my feet. Then slip into these for my 2 twelve hour shifts on the weekend. The difference is amazing. Light weight, flexable yet still firm enough. My foot can still move which is a problem i have wearing sneakers, my foot is trapped in place causing many of the aches and pains. Good support and enough padding to outlast my 12 hour shifts. I will admit the second day, towards the end of my shift, my feet are a little ache but no where near what how they were in the other designed shoes. Well worth the money. Good quality and i love the color. . Update:. It is now the end if february so after 3 months i will say they held up very well but my feet are killing me again. I got a month before i put in a heel support and now another month later that has failed as well, along with the cushioning for the front. I have estimated that i have put on just over 400 miles so it is about right for wear and tear. I'm just saddened that i need to buy another pair of shoes so here i go again.

Saucony Women's Guide 9 Running Shoe (mss s1029510) FAQ.

Love these shoes! my plantar fasciitis is horrible in one foot and the pain affects my ankle as well. I couldn't take it anymore. I had been wearing different styles of asics but my foot/ankle were still killing me even after light exercising or walking a short distance. I read that this shoe was great for plantar fasciitis. And also a friend who has similar issues said she loved hers. I am an 8. 5 in most shoes so i got that size and they fit great. My foot/ankle did not. I repeat. Did not hurt after going for a pretty lengthy walk! these feel so great on and the cushioning is awesome. I definitely recommend these for anyone with plantar fasciitis! where has this shoe been all my life? ! ? ! -Notice from K. Yvette, Sheffield

I rarely write a review but it was a must for these amazing shoes. I have been suffering with severe plantar fasciitis pain for 6 months and have tried multiple products. After researching shoes for plantar fasciitis i chose these based on reviews and style compared other brands. I could not be happier! after day one i had 50% less pain, day 2 75% less pain, and day 3 90% less pain, no burning, and no more limping! i'm ordering another pair to have on hand when these wear out so i can remain pain free! miracle shoes!

- E. RoseThese shoes are hard to find in wide at store locations. I've been purchasing guides for several years but they tightened the fit which mad the regular sizes far to narrow for me. Very thankful i found it in wide on online store. The fit is perfect and now i don't have to start looking for a new running shoe- love sauconys

I've purchased saucony brand running shoes for quite some time & am used to ordering a half-size up due to the smaller toe box. I feel like this one is a little roomier and yet i can't quite tell if i should order down next time or not-online ordering is tricky but i've found that my true-size in the older sauconys was just fine for walking but not so much for running so i'm torn about this now as i'd hate to go down a size only to find that my toes squish up in the toe box while running. :/ design changing like this is a tricky business shoe makers! also for the first time i've had to really work to break these shoes in. Saucony has long been a put on and go running brand for me with no blisters or soreness. I'm not sure if the added material in the sole is the cause but yesterday was the first run i've had in these shoes that didn't cause my toes to go numb after a couple of miles. Yesterday's run was pretty comfortable and i have no reason to think these shoes won't perform going forward. I'm just not used to having to break-in a pair of sauconys.

The F.A.Q. for saucony men's guide 9 running shoe

Fit nicely on the arch and uppers but needs some breaking in around the achilles tendon area on the heel (getting a little abrasion now but no blister). Love the foot strike with this shoe though and it keeps me coming back. This is the fourth pair i've purchased. They generally fall apart at the top of the back (at the achilles heel contact point) first but a little slick duct tape on that spot gets them through to when the tread wears down on the heel. I generally get a full year out of them at 20-25 miles per week.

This a good to very good shoe but not great. . Pros:. Nice overall fit. Great forefront padding. Looks nice. Very light. . Cons:. It feels like your heels slips out when walking not a big issue when running. I prefer more stability in a shoe and this was lacking in this dept. I didnt hinder or help my performance

Best saucony men's guide 9 running shoe (guide 9 m) in review

I'm a fan of these shoes so far. I had the guide 7's and overall i like these better so far. I have suffered from shin splints in the past and haven't had any issues with that so far (probably put about 30-40 miles on them total. My shin splints likely a result of my moderately flat feet. The price point here on online store is good. The shoe looks pretty good in person as well. . My one complaint is that there is some sort of soft cushioning under the insole. I always buy superfeet insoles to put in my shoes and this unusual foam like material combined with the superfeet insoles makes a very squeeky and pretty annoying/embarrassing noise when walking around in them. I switched to "soles" insoles and the noise issue is better, although the fit was better with superfeet blue. . I'm not deducting a star for that since it is due to my own preference, not manufacturer design. . I would highly recommend for other people who have moderately flat feet and want some motion control but nothing too intrusive.

Great shoes for running. I particularly recommend for people with flat feet like me. Decided on this particular model after doing quite a bit of research. My only comment is that it has a wide toe box. Other than than, great looking and comfortable running shoes. I run about 3 to 4 miles weekly on the road and also on the treadmill, i had to break them in a little, but now they are very comfortable. Will continue to buy the saucony guide.

L. Lynette, Brandenburg

This is my second pair of guide 9s, so i knew what to expect. My first pair lasted around three months, which seems like a short amount time, however i lost thirty pounds during that period, with these shoes on my feet the whole time. . These shoes offer exceptional support and comfort, especially for larger folks. Will buy again.

A. Shayna, Oregon says

These are great running shoes for those who need the extra support due to pronation. I took my first pair of guide 9 shoes nearly 600 miles before replacing. These are my second pair and i plan to go about 600 miles again. No injuries - favorite saucony shoes so far! i just wish saucony could do something a bit different with their design as i think brooks, nike, and other companies beat them in that department. But for fit and ride, i love the saucony guide shoes.

I. Margaret, Tennessee

I gave this product four stars because i bought the same shoe in a different color a few weeks before and they are super comfortable, however this pair didn't fit as well and were too tight. So, i sent the gray pair back and ordered the blue hoping this one pair was an anomaly.

U. Joanne, West Sussex says

I'm moving from mizuno wave inspire to these shoes, and so far, very very good. These shoes have a lot more cushion and a softer, more comfortable fit that the mizunos, and actually feel very much like the asics gel kayanos, but a lot lighter. The back sits a little lower than the other shoes i've tried and i was concerned about them rubbing on the back of my heel. But so far, that hasn't been the case, although i have yet to run more than 6 miles in them (will get longer runs in coming weeks). They fit snug, but comfortable, and i love being able to find good running shoes for a fraction of the cost of asics (my go-to running shoe for many years, but i just can't justify the price when i wear them out every 3-4 months). These shoes are light, yet still appear to have just enough stability for me (i use superfeet blue inserts).

U. Smith, Tameside

These have about as much cushioning as the triumph iso 2. I wear a size 9 in nike tennis and running shoes. I have wide feet and i find that saucony generally run narrow compared to nike. I had to get a size 9. 5 2e for my saucony triumph iso 2. Online store did not have these guide 9 in 9. 5 2e so i tried just 9. 5. Unfortunately it was still too narrow otherwise i would have kept them. It was a great price.

S. Edith, Greenwich says

Updated on may 16, 2016:. -. I already retired my first pairs of guide 9 at 450 miles and bought 2 more pairs since then. Trained and finished one marathon with the second pair and racked up 350 miles already. One complain about guide 9, the fabric/material where my right little toe is not strong and it breaks. It happens to both pairs of my guide 9. No break on the left little toe so maybe it's my right toe that's sticking out! ? it still runs fine with a small hole but i feel embarrassed wearing it. I'll start breaking in my 3rd pair and will report back in 2 months. . Updated on feb. 29, 2016:. -. It's been 4 months and my original guide 9 has 430 miles on it. Just ran another race and it's still holding strong. Not sure how much it can last but i've started wearing the new pairs and demote this one to raining day training shoe. I just need to watch the price and buy couple more pairs when they are on sale. . Updated on dec 17, 2015:. -. I've ran over 100 miles with the guide 9 and so far so good. Had couple long run with it and also raced a half marathon with raining condition without any issue. I've since bought another pair because i'm very pleased with it and also the holiday discount from online store. This will be my training and racing shoe till the next version comes out. . Original review:. -. I love to run and i average 40-50 miles a week. I have couple saucony shoes such as guide 7, 8, hurricane iso, tr8 and the brand new guide 9 is the most comfortable out of all the saucony. Guide 7 is a very solid shoe and i love it. I actually skipped guide 8 and went straight for guide 9. The everun technology seem to help a lot during the long run - less hurting compared to 7 and hurricane. This shoe is perfect for training and i can't wait to wear it to the race and see what it can do. . I also bought the guide 8 since it has great discount but it's just not as comfortable as the 7 and 9. I'm not sure why. . As for the size, i wear 10. 5 and all the saucony shoes fit perfectly. Would definitely buy the guide 9 again.

J. Guest, Windsor and Maidenhead

For the last several years, i have bought only the saucony men's guide shoe for running. My knees are 64 years old and it is possible for me to abuse them. Running twice a week and icing my knees afterwards has kept them happy. But some shoes i have tried produce disastrous results for knees and ankles. The saucony guide has increased my running pleasure immensely. They are cushy but stiff enough, very smooth. The toe box is perfectly roomy, no toe squishing and no slippage side-to-side. I hate when my foot gets rammed into the toe when going downhill so i use the runner's knot with the extra hole near the tongue to hold me in - works great. The shoes last for about 6 months which is roughly 150 miles for me, after which i begin to notice more ankle knee pain that i like. I'm not sure what wears out in the shoe. The bottom still looks pretty good so i'm guessing it's due to insole deterioration; it might be possible to make them last longer by replacing it. In any case, no running shoe i have ever tried lasts longer than six months. I have no plans to try any other shoe.

R. Broyles, Staffordshire says

Fits ok, a bit tighter than i would've expected, but i wouldn't say it is too small. The stretchy laces take some getting used to. I have about 70 miles in these shoes and they seem to be doing fine. I have some pain on my left big toe joint on the foot where i feel the shoe pressing. But they are comfortable. I really do like the padding on these shoes. They've gone with me on many few mile road runs up through a 15 mile trail run. They've held up well so far.

B. Lewis, Montana

This is my fourth pair of the saucony guide series of shoe, and i'm so glad i found them after so much research. Who knew you could get really geeky on sneaker specs? running shoes are important to your overall health and performance, and it's important you do your research into the shoe you need. While i do believe there are bad shoes- i believe that most likely you've picked the wrong shoe, and unfortunately bad shoes can equal bad experiences, which can put a damper on your enthusiasm for exercise. Body type, medical concerns (i. E. A "trick ankle") and distance/type of running you do are all important factors. Due to a past bad experience at a local running store, i would highly recommend you do your own research, and not blindly follow what the "experts" at the running shop say (ok, off the soap box. ) why i love these shoes- i'm kind of a big cat- over 6'5" and 260 pounds- and run somewhere between 70-110 miles per month, almost all of which is outside. I get somewhere between 350-400 miles out of these shoes, and only use them for running (although my old pairs end up being the shoes i wear while cutting the grass). I can't say enough good things about this shoe- if you're looking for a shoe that has support- both lateral (think knee safety) and arch (you could drive a truck through mine) - and is comfortable (i. E. Cushioned) as well, this is the shoe for you. Very stable and has great traction. If they ever stop the guide series i'll have to stock up, great shoe for the money if it's the right shoe for you. Happy running! . . As a p. S. /side note, i don't use mileage to solely determine when it's time for a new pair. I can tell on my longer runs when my lower back starts to hurt a little that it's time to get a new shoes, which seems to happen somewhere in that 350-400 mile range. Do not skimp on running shoes, you'll be thankful for it.

R. Barbara, Minnesota says

Ran a marathon last year in mizuno wave inspire 11s and found that there just wasn't enough cushion for the long ride. These are supportive and fit similarly to my feet in a 9. When you or them on the collar seems to be loose fitting above the heel but at pace they are glorious!

I will change my rating in the near future. I've only got a few miles in. These see my first pair saucony. I always buy my running shoes a half size bigger so mine were an 11. 5 they did feel a bit snug in the front even with the half size up for myself. I absolutely know a size 12 would have been far too roomy and that's not what you want in a running shoe. So far i would compare the fit to an asics gel kyano (20, 21).
